Pennsylvania is the Fourth State to Legalize Online Gambling
On Oct. 30, 2017, Pennsylvania officially became US state #4 to legalize online gambling when Gov. Wolf signed the bill into law. We expect that sites will be up and running in early 2019. Here is a look at what the bill authorizes and what we know so far:
Online Casinos and Online Poker
The new law allows for 13 licenses in each of the three categories: Table games; Slots; and Peer-to-peer games such as online poker.
With only three casinos currently operating online (Bovada, Vegas Casino, and Lincoln Casino), 2019 may be the year that we see more online casinos. According to sources, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has already approved MGM and Golden Nugget online casinos, however, once the gaming license applications have been approved, they will be added to the list of the 10 Pennsylvania casinos that are planning to offer online casino games.
